Checking guard card status on the Division of Licensing Services – Licensee Name Search website
*Students must pass examination – required for successful completion*
All students must come prepared with photo ID on the day of class. For example, a state-issued driver’s license, non-driver ID card (NDID), passport, etc. If a student does not have any form of photo ID, please call and discuss prior to registering for this course.
If a security guard has not yet received their renewal paperwork from NYS, they should reach out to the Division of Licensing Services directly to obtain another copy. The state ONLY sends Guard card renewal forms via USPS to the address on file for each Guard. Students cannot print this form from the State website. When a guard needs to request that paperwork, they can email : Licensing@dos.ny.gov
In the event a guard has changed their address and needs to update records with the state, they can download a form HERE to send into the state.
